G-Line Symposium Abstract
Time Resolved SAXS of Photexcited
Molecules
Presented by:
Jessica Lamb, Pollack Group, Cornell
We have successfully incorporated a laser beam into a Small Angle X-Ray Scattering setup as a photoexcitation source for the blue light sensitive protein VIVID. Using x-ray focusing capillaries, we were able to capture time-resolved data on the conformational change initiated by light. In this ongoing study, we were able to capture distinct states with time resolution on the order of several seconds. We hope to further interpret this data and improve the technique to achieve submillisecond time resolution.
